Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

At Generations Health Care, Inc., we offer a wide range of services from physical care, emotional and spiritual care, respite care, and bereavement care. Some of our most requested services are bathing help for patients and nursing care.

What services can you provide to family members?

Our comfort care is not limited to patients but also their family members because we believe that family always comes first. We offer comfort care through social care services, bereavement care, and educating family members on what to expect.

How are services paid for?

Generations is Medicare certified, which means your hospice care will be covered by Medicare as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. We also accept payments from private medical insurance. Generations will verify all your insurance coverage and discuss the various options with you and your caregivers.

How often can you come out?

Our hospice staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our on-call nurse is available after-hours and on weekends. We pride ourselves on offering care services that can accommodate your schedule and can generally be planned in accordance with your preferences.

What services don’t you offer?

We don’t offer convalescent care. This is a short-term care that supports patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. We don't offer 24/7 caregiving services. We offer the four levels of hospice care.

What makes Generations Health Care, Inc., different?

At Generations Health Care, Inc., our patients are more than just a number. As a family owned and operated company, we treat every patient like family and support our staff so they can provide the highest quality care.

How long is hospice care?

The length of hospice care will typically depend on the patient’s condition. Some patients will spend as little as a few days, while others can spend months in hospice. There is no right or wrong amount of time.

When is the best time to start hospice care?

Knowing when it’s time to start hospice care can be tricky, but there are some signs that it is time. These include:

  • Terminal illness diagnosis with a prognosis of six months
  • Frequent doctor or hospital visits
  • Pain and symptoms can no longer be controlled at home
  • Assistance is required for three or more daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, eating, transferring, toileting, and continence

How does hospice manage pain?

Hospice care does not provide curative treatments, but can manage pain with prescription or non-prescription pain medication, heat or cold therapy, physical therapy, and holistic practices.

Once you begin hospice care, can you leave?

Of course. Patients can leave hospice if they’re in recovery, they’re trying experimental options, or they’re resuming curative treatments.

What medical supplies are provided?

Most medical supplies needed for physical and comfort care are provided by the hospice, such as:

  • Wound care supplies
  • Personal care products
  • Cushions and wedges
  • Incontinence supplies
  • Mobility aides like walkers and wheelchairs
  • Durable medical equipment

What expenses are not covered by insurance?

Your out-of-pocket expenses will depend on your medical insurance, but generally, the following is not covered:

  • Curative treatments
  • Caregiving services are not covered
  • Transportation between medical appointments

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Matthew Renteria for the exceptional care and support they provided during his time spent with in my nursing facility. From the very first time I meet him, he showed compassion, patience, and genuine empathy that made a world of difference to our residents.Matthew Renteria was always available to answer any and all questions, explain the process with clarity, and offer emotional support not just to staff but families with loved one’s in the facility, but to all of us. His presence brought comfort, as well professionalism gave us peace of mind knowing we were in good hands. One moment that stood out was the Men’s Group. He offered emotional comfort, and went above and beyond in a small but meaningful way.We are so thankful to have had his guidance and care. I would highly recommend Matthew Renteria to any family navigating hospice care his team truly made a lasting difference.

Generations Healthcare is truly exceptional. From the very first conversation, their compassion and professionalism was above and beyond. Every nurse, aide, and staff member treated my loved one with genuine kindness, dignity, and respect. They took the time to listen, explain, and support us through every step. The team went above and beyond to ensure my loved one was cared for not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. What truly sets them apart is how personal and attentive their care is. You feel like family, not just another patient. We will forever be grateful, thank you.

I cannot recommend Generations Hospice highly enough. It was truly a privilege to have them care for my uncle during his final days. From the very beginning, their nursing staff demonstrated exceptional knowledge, compassion, and professionalism. They guided us through every step of the process with clarity and kindness, easing what could have been an overwhelming experience. My uncle received outstanding care, and we found deep comfort in knowing he was in such capable and compassionate hands. Generations provided not just medical support, but emotional reassurance for our entire family. Their service was nothing short of extraordinary.
